Katniss Everdeen may be the fastest, most athletic action star in movies that’s not a comic book character with super powers.
In a recent interview on Good Morning America, Jennifer Lawrence revealed that she is pigeon-toed. Training for her role in The Hunger Games required intense physical activity, especially cardio.
While Jen says that she loved getting into shape to play the role of Katniss, running with pigeon-toed feet made things a little more difficult. By the end of her training for the role, Jennifer said the directors taped her feet in order to help her run correctly.
Do Pigeon Toes Really Affect Running Ability?
Pigeon toes are classified as feet that are pointed abnormally towards each other as opposed to straight. Common in children, many people grow out of the condition simply when they age. But this unusual formation of the toes does not necessarily impact runners negatively.
Some studies show pigeon toed athletes are faster and more explosive than others. Maybe this is why Katniss won the Hunger Games!
If you are a runner and are pigeon toed, pay attention to any joint pain that you may experience. The strain of running could be more harmful to a pigeon-toed individual, mainly because of joint diffusion.
