They have heard about this pain-relieving stick, so we did some investigating.
Shelly, owner and pharmacist at Grassroots Pharmacy, was able to help us out.
What is CBD Oil?
CBD is an element found in the cannabis herb, you can find it as a topical (CBD oil stick) or oral drops, commonly used for anxiety. The oil has anti-inflammatory properties that are used to help with things such as achilles tendonitis, inflammatory arthritis, skin irritations, musculoskeletal pain and plantar fasciitis to name a few. The CBD oil stick can be used in place of BENGAY or BioFreeze.
Is This Going To Get You High?
NO! THC is the psychoactive ingredient in the cannabis herb, when you cultivate that to have less than 0.3% THC level it becomes safe to use in the oral drops or CBD oil stick. CBD oil effects are therapeutic rather than mind altering, like THC.
In an article published by Organic Facts, they explain, “The reason that CBD is such an effective form of support for human health is due to the body’s endogenous cannabinoid system. This regulatory structure of the body has millions of cannabinoid receptors in the brain and nervous system, which react not only to plant-derived cannabinoids (such as hemp and marijuana) but also to natural cannabinoids produced within our body. When hemp oil is used and processed by the body, it is effectively boosting the function of the endocannabinoid system, helping our body regulate itself in many different ways.” (2018)
Am I Safe For Drug Testing?
If you are randomly drug tested for work you are SAFE! This is a hemp derived product so if your workplace tests for marijuana they will find nothing or next to nothing. As opposed to a THC derived product, which would make you test positive for marijuana. Of course, it is always good to be transparent with your employer and let them know that you are using a CBD oil stick for pain relief.
Is This Safe For Children?
Yes! Even the oral drops are safe for children. This product promotes a good nights sleep, boosts immune system, promotes appetite, helps with skin care, heart health and of course helps with pain relief. If you have a child in sports that has some pain this might be a great alternative to look into.
Is This a Good Alternative?
This product comes with different relaxing scents and is at a great price point. You can use as much or as little as you want depending on the area of pain that you are covering and what your body may need to get a kickstart on healing. As an all-natural and local product we believe it may work for some and not for others, but it is an appealing natural alternative that some patients may feel is worth a shot!
