Laser Therapy for Pain

What is Laser Therapy?

Laser therapy is a therapeutic device that converts light into biochemical energy in order to return cells to normal function, which causes symptoms and pain to disappear.

Treatments are performed by placing the laser in direct contact with the skin. The healing energy goes into the skin while the laser interacts with molecules and also enhances the body's natural healing process.

In short, patients feel better faster with healing potential at the same time.

Laser therapy is known for many benefits, including:

  • Advanced Wound Healing
  • Advanced Cell Growth and Tissue Repair
  • Lesser Fibrous Tissue
  • Inflammation Reduction
  • Pain Reduction
  • Better Vascular Activity
  • Higher Metabolic Rates
  • Better Nerve Function

Patients have been pleased with laser pain therapy because there are no drug interactions, it's quick and...most important...the therapy itself is painless and effective. In fact, oftentimes, the pain relief is almost immediate.

What conditions benefit from MLS Laser Therapy?

  • Heel Pain - Plantar Fasciitis & Achilles Tendonitis
  • Neuropathy
  • Arthritis in any joint
  • Foot & Ankle Injuries
  • Surgical Sites

What does it feel like?

The procedure uses a cold laser, so there is no pain during treatment.

How long does a treatment take?

The procedure is done in just minutes!

How many treatments do I need to see results?

Many patients see results after just one treatment! Typically, 3-10 treatments can give optimal results.

How long do the effects last?

For most patients, the laser treatments give substantial pain relief. Many patients do not need to return for laser treatments after their initial round. Chronic issues such as arthritis are degenerative, and may need additional treatments periodically to keep pain and inflammation at bay.

Will insurance cover it?

Although insurance does not currently cover laser therapy, Care Credit, Health Savings Accounts and Flex Spending Accounts will cover the procedure.

Absolutely amazing staff! Smiling faces, compassion and understanding! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

I was frankly shocked at how good they were at EVERYthing. They saw me less than 2 hours after I called. Dr. Barko was ebullient and professional. You can ask them questions via TXT, which is huge. Their offices are spic-n-span and modern. Basically, they're knocking it out of the park. I don't wish for more in-grown toenails, but if it happens, I'm going straight back to Lexington Podiatry.

I love Lexington Podiatry! The staff is always so helpful, and attentive. I love Dr. Freels. She is top notch, and is always so happy to see me, and listens to me about what is going on.

Dr. Carter diagnosed and created a treatment plan in minutes- other podiatrists have treated me incorrectly for years. So pleased to have answers and solutions.

My left foot had been hurting for a while. The staff and doctors here are all quite knowledgeable and professional, as well as friendly and personable. My diagnosis was promptly made, x-ray completed right there in the office, and I left with the two braces that I needed. No waiting for the mail, trip to brace shop, nada. Most excellent clinic!
