Sports medicine surgery is warranted when our patients have failed conservative care and are in need of additional treatment. Did you know that repetitive injuries to the ankles, ligaments and tendons and a history of multiple ankle sprains can take a toll on your joint?
About the Procedure
Most people have heard of scoping the knee, but did you know this can be done to the ankle? Much like in the knee, chronic inflammation and injury to the ankle joint can be alleviated by scoping the ankle joint. This is a minimally invasive procedure in which a small scope is inserted into the ankle joint to clear the joint of scar tissue and inflammation. This procedure involves very little down time, minimal scarring, and gets you back on your feet in a shot amount of time.
If you feel that you may be a candidate for this procedure, call our office and schedule an evaluation with our rearfoot surgeon, Dr. Hurless.
